Addis Ababa, February 17, 2026 (FMC) — Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Eyob Tekalign, held discussions with renowned American economist Jeffrey D. Sachs on Ethiopia’s ongoing macroeconomic reform program, the central bank said.
The talks focused on Ethiopia’s reform trajectory as well as broader global economic trends and policy developments, according to the National Bank of Ethiopia.
The bank said the exchange provided an opportunity to draw on Professor Sachs’ perspectives as Ethiopia continues implementing macroeconomic reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy and strengthening policy management.
