Over 15,000 participants from 55 countries attend ETEX 2025 in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2025 (FMC) — More than 15,000 participants from 55 countries attended the Ethiopian Technology Expo (ETEX 2025), underscoring the growing international interest in Ethiopia’s digital transformation and potential as a technology hub.

The three-day event, held from May 16 to 18 at the Addis International Convention Center (AICC) in Addis Ababa, served as a major platform to showcase Ethiopia’s technological ambitions on a global stage.

A statement issued at the conclusion of the Expo described the event as a success, noting it provided a valuable opportunity to present Ethiopia’s progress in the tech sector while strengthening the country’s image and reputation.

The Expo was also highlighted as a key occasion to demonstrate Ethiopia’s digital transformation journey and achievements to the international community, reaffirming efforts to build a conducive and enabling environment for connecting Africa through technology.

ETEX 2025 featured various thematic programs focusing on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, financial technology, smart cities, and technology education.

As part of the event’s outcomes, 20 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between government institutions and various private and technology organizations. Additionally, more than 100 local and foreign entities showcased their products and services at the exhibition.
