PM Abiy Ahmed holds bilateral talks with several African leaders

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2026 (FMC)Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, held a series of bilateral meetings with African leaders on the sidelines of the second and closing day of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.

The meetings focused on strengthening bilateral relations, advancing continental cooperation, and exchanging views on shared regional and development priorities.

During the engagements, Prime Minister Abiy met with Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, to exchange views on continental matters and explore areas of cooperation between Ethiopia and Namibia.

He also held talks with John Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, with discussions centering on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between Ethiopia and Ghana.

In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Abiy received Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

Their discussions addressed continental issues and areas of mutual interest within the framework of the African Union.
