Addis Ababa, January 31, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) is scheduled to address Ethiopian Parliament on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to present the federal government’s performance over the first six months of the 2025/26 fiscal year and outline key priorities for the remainder of the year, the House of People’s Representatives (HoPR) confirmed today.
During the session, PM Abiy is expected to deliver a mid-year report on the implementation of key government programs and national strategies, covering progress across economic, political, social, diplomatic, and other sectors. The report will highlight achievements, challenges, and ongoing initiatives, while also disclosing next directions and planned measures for the rest of the fiscal year.
He is also expected to respond to potential queries from members of Parliament and provide clarifications on policy execution, sectoral performance, and broader government plans, according to information from the parliamentary administration.
The 10th regular session offers lawmakers the opportunity to review government performance, seek explanations, and engage directly with the Prime Minister on the progress of national initiatives and development programs.
