Addis Ababa, August 16, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed praised ongoing development projects in Arba Minch, highlighting the city’s potential to emerge as a major conference destination and tourism hub.
In a message shared on social media following his visit on Friday, the Premier described Arba Minch as “beautiful in its natural form” and underscored the progress made under the government’s Dine for Generations initiative.
He noted that the project would enable the southern city to host large-scale conferences, citing the Kulfo Riverside development as a “remarkable addition” to Arba Minch’s unique natural and cultural attractions. Corridor expansion works, he added, have also shown significant progress since their last review.
The Prime Minister further commended infrastructure upgrades at the Arbaminch Forest, where new access routes have opened pathways to the mountain, waterways, and surrounding forests.
“These improvements, along with similar works we’ve seen in multiple cities outside of Addis, demonstrate that we have many options and untapped potential,” Abiy said, stressing that the projects reflect the country’s capacity to achieve great collective results when efforts are aligned.
