President of Botswana Duma Gideon Boko Arrives in Addis Ababa for AU Summit

Addis Ababa, February 12, 2026 (FMC) – The President of the Republic of Botswana, Duma Gideon Boko, arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon to attend the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, scheduled for February 14-15.

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, President Boko was warmly received by Ethiopia’s Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla, and State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.

His arrival is part of the continued entry of African leaders and senior delegates to Addis Ababa ahead of the summits, which this year focus on “Water Security and Climate Resilience”, emphasizing key continental priorities for 2026.
