Addis Ababa, March 13, 2026 (FMC) — The FDRE President Taye Atske-Selassie said Ethiopian Airlines Group should continue to strengthen its ongoing efforts to enhance its international reputation and competitiveness during a tour of the airline’s operations today.
It is noteworthy that Ethiopian Airlines Group recently stood first in the 12th National Quality Awards Competition.
Also the patron of the Ethiopian Quality Award Organization, President Taye described the airline as a national symbol and said it has made a significant contribution to the development of the country, proving that it deserves the first-class quality award.
The President highlighted the airline’s outstanding role in connecting Ethiopia and Africa to the world and praised its human resource strength and exemplary work culture. He emphasized that the airline should continue to strengthen its efforts to enhance international competitiveness.
President Taye also noted the importance of sustaining the standards that earned the airline national recognition.
For his part, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the airline is expanding both international and domestic destinations, with plans to reach 242 international destinations worldwide.
He added that the airline is constantly improving its service delivery and has won multiple awards at different times over the years.
CEO Mesfin also assured that Ethiopian Airlines will continue to strengthen its work to maintain and enhance international competitiveness.
