President Taye Sends Eid al-Fitr Greetings to Muslims Across Ethiopia and Beyond

Addis Ababa, March 19, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s President Taye Atske Selassie has extended his greetings to Muslims on the occasion of the 1447th Eid al-Fitr.

In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the President conveyed his best wishes, expressing hope that the holiday would be marked by peace, unity, love, and compassion.

Eid al-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, is one of the most significant religious holidays for Muslims worldwide. It is traditionally observed with communal prayers, acts of charity, and gatherings among families and communities, reflecting values of generosity, solidarity, and spiritual renewal. The 1447th Eid al-Fitr is set to be observed on Friday, March 20, by Muslim faithful across the world.
