President William Ruto of Kenya arrives in Addis Ababa ahead of Africa Climate Summit

Addis Ababa, September 7, 2025 (FMC) — President William Samoei Ruto of the Republic of Kenya arrived in Addis Ababa today to participate in the Second Africa Climate Summit, a key continental platform addressing climate action and sustainable development in Africa.

Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport, President Ruto received a warm welcome from Ethiopian officials, including Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Seme, Minister of Agriculture Addisu Arega, and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.

The Second Africa Climate Summit brings together African leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss strategies for mitigating climate change, promoting renewable energy, and building climate-resilient economies.

Leaders from various Caribbean and African countries are converging in Addis Ababa for the ACS2 and Africa-CARICOM Summit, with close to 25,000 participants expected to attend the summits and associated side events.
