Addis Ababa, October 24, 2025 (FMC) — The Prosperity Party (PP) will intensify its efforts to safeguard Ethiopia’s national interests — including securing access to the sea — and to resolve outstanding challenges, the Party’s Vice President and Executive Committee member, Adem Farah, affirmed.
Adem made the remarks following the Prosperity Party Executive Committee’s regular meeting held today, during which members deliberated on key national issues and internal party matters and outlined future directions.
He recalled that the Party has consistently pursued its vision of achieving comprehensive national prosperity, translating its promises into tangible action over the past years.
Adem emphasized that the Party remains determined to work closely with stakeholders to mend existing fractures and to uphold Ethiopia’s full sovereignty, with the national interest at the center of all efforts.
Highlighting the country’s economic progress, the Vice President noted that Ethiopia registered a 9.2 percent growth rate during the last Ethiopian fiscal year — a reflection of the development activities implemented in recent years.
The Executive Committee also observed that structural transformation is taking root, with the economy transitioning from its traditional reliance on agriculture toward industry and modern services.
According to Adem, strong performance has been recorded in domestic revenue collection, exports, and import substitution, with the overall growth characterized as inclusive, quality-driven, and beneficial to citizens’ livelihoods.
He further noted that meaningful progress has been achieved in efforts to ensure food sovereignty and to reduce reliance on external humanitarian aid by strengthening domestic production capacity. These people-centered initiatives, he said, have directly benefited many vulnerable citizens.
Adem underscored that Ethiopia will continue working to eliminate dependency, secure sufficient domestic resources to meet humanitarian needs, and build strategic national reserves through local capacity.
The Vice President also affirmed that the Prosperity Party is committed to playing its part in ensuring the next national election is peaceful, credible, transparent, and inclusive.
Regarding peace and stability, he reported that significant improvements have been achieved in previously unstable areas through coordinated efforts between the government and the public. He added that a conducive environment now exists for any political entity with grievances to pursue peaceful dialogue, reiterating that the ruling party and the government it leads “always keep their doors open for peace.”
The Executive Committee further reviewed progress on good governance reforms and service delivery efficiency, confirming that these initiatives have now entered into practical implementation.
Adem noted that the expansion of Mesob one-stop service centers and ongoing digitalization efforts are key components of this reform. To date, 16 centers have been established and are providing services, achieving a 95 percent public satisfaction rate, he revealed. The Committee has set a new target to expand the number of Mesob centers to 100 by July 7, 2026.
He also stated that the Prosperity Party has been actively working to strengthen the leadership and institutional capacity of its members in pursuit of building a capable government and a prosperous nation.
In line with this, evaluations have been conducted at all levels based on the responsibilities entrusted to leaders and members. Outstanding performers have been recognized, while corrective measures have been taken against those who failed to meet national and party expectations.
Adem concluded that the Party will continue to reinforce its ongoing efforts to deliver tangible benefits to the Ethiopian people and advance the nation’s long-term development and stability.
