Addis Ababa, February 19, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the Rural Corridors Program is making nationwide progress following his review of development activities in East Wollega.
The Prime Minister is continuing a two-day visit to the Wollega area of Oromia Region, observing major development initiatives across Qellem, East, and West Wollega Zones.
Following his visit to Mede Jalela kebele today, PM Abiy highlighted the developments in the rural corridors project there. According to his social media post, the initiative includes modern solar power, biogas systems, livestock pens, bathrooms, and landscaped green spaces.
“These improvements,” he wrote on his social media pages today, “are creating a sustainable and dignified living environment for the community.”
The visit underscores the ongoing implementation of the nationwide Rural Corridors Program, launched in recent years by the Prime Minister himself to improve livelihoods and enhance living conditions for farmers across Ethiopia.
