Russian President accepts invitation to visit India

Addis Ababa, May 6, 2025 (FMC) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held telephone talks, TV BRICS reported on Monday, citing the official website of the Kremlin.

“During the conversation was emphasised the strategic nature of Russian-Indian relations of a particularly privileged partnership,” writes the press service.

It is noted that during the conversation Putin once again expressed condolences in connection with the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The parties emphasised the need to fight terrorism.

In addition, Modi congratulated the President and the people of Russia on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and noted that it is a common holiday.

The Indian leader invited Putin to visit the country for the traditional annual bilateral summit. The Russian side gratefully accepted the invitation.
