Addis Ababa, June 6, 2025 (FMC) – Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar has commended the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, highlighting its role in preserving Ethiopia’s rich history and ensuring that the legacy of the Adwa Victory is passed on to future generations.
During her official visit to Addis Ababa over the past two days, President Pirc Musar paid tribute by laying a wreath at the Adwa Victory Memorial and toured the museum, expressing admiration for the monument’s significance and scale.
She noted that Addis Ababa, as the headquarters of the African Union and a major diplomatic hub, reflects Ethiopia’s remarkable progress, as evidenced by ongoing infrastructure and development projects.
The President acknowledged that the Adwa Victory holds profound meaning as a symbol of freedom for Ethiopia and the wider African diaspora, emphasizing the importance of preserving historical sites like the Adwa Memorial.
She further observed that safeguarding cultural heritage is a vital responsibility for every nation, and that Ethiopia’s establishment of the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum stands as a testament to this commitment.
President Pirc Musar also reaffirmed Slovenia’s intention to deepen its diplomatic relations with Ethiopia through expanded cooperation in various sectors.
