Addis Ababa, July 13, 2026 (FMC) — Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has congratulated Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party on its success in the 7th General Election, expressing confidence that the renewed mandate will further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two parties and their countries.
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of the Party’s Foreign Relations Department, Zafer Sirakaya, conveyed the congratulatory message to Prosperity Party Deputy President Adem Farah.
In the message, Sirakaya expressed hope that the election results would contribute positively to peace, prosperity, and security for the Ethiopian people.
He also expressed confidence that Ethiopia would continue advancing toward stability, sustainable development, and inclusive growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The AK Party emphasized the importance it attaches to the strong relations and cooperation established between the two parties, noting that the Memorandum of Understanding signed on September 30, 2025, has laid a solid foundation for further enhancing their partnership.
The party also appreciated the constructive approach and response demonstrated by the Prosperity Party in advancing relations between the two sides.
It further stated that the mandate given to the Prosperity Party by the Ethiopian people would create additional opportunities to deepen the long-term friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries.
