Addis Ababa, February 12, 2026 (FMC) – The Vice Presidents of Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Seychelles have arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, scheduled for February 14–15.
The Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Tiemoko Meyliet Koné, arrived in the Ethiopian capital and was warmly received at Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla, along with State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
Later in the day, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, also arrived in Addis Ababa to attend the summit. He was received at Bole International Airport by Minister of Innovation and Technology Belete Molla.
The Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, Sebastien Pillay, likewise arrived in Addis Ababa for the AU Summit and was welcomed by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
The arrivals reflect the continued entry of senior African leaders and high-level representatives into Addis Ababa ahead of the continental gathering, as the city hosts a series of high-level diplomatic engagements during summit week.
