AUSSOM lauds ENDF troops for role in advancing the Mission’s mandate in Somalia
Addis Ababa, February 11, 2026 (FMC) – The African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) has lauded Ethiopian peacekeeping troops deployed under the Mission for their role in advancing AUSSOM’s objectives in Somalia.
The commendation was made during a meeting held at the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) Headquarters in Addis Ababa between Chief of the General Staff of the ENDF, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, and the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) and Head of AUSSOM, Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene.
Field Marshal Berhanu Jula reaffirmed the ENDF’s determination to continue supporting regional peace, stability, and security.
For his part, Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene praised the Ethiopian National Defense Forces for their role in implementing AUSSOM’s mandate.
Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration and coordination to enhance security and stability in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, it has been learned.
