Deputy PM Temesgen bids farewell to Malaysian PM after historic three-day visit
Addis Ababa, November 20, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh bid farewell to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today at Bole International Airport, following the successful conclusion of his three-day official working visit to Ethiopia.
Mr. Temesgen highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it featured highly productive engagements and comprehensive bilateral discussions across multiple sectors.
“The visit has further deepened the bonds of friendship and partnership between Ethiopia and Malaysia, laying a solid foundation for enhanced collaboration in the years ahead,” he said on social media.
Deputy PM Temesgen expressed confidence that the outcomes of the visit would strengthen economic, cultural, and technological collaboration between the two nations, reinforcing Ethiopia’s role as a strategic partner for Malaysia in Africa.
During his stay, PM Anwar participated in extensive bilateral talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, visited the Adwa Victory Memorial, and presided over the first-ever High-Level Ethiopia–Malaysia Business Forum alongside President Taye Atske-Selassie. Several cooperation agreements were signed, covering trade, investment, and other strategic areas, signaling a new chapter in Ethiopia–Malaysia relations.
