Deputy PM Temesgen pedges full support to modernize Bishoftu Training Center
Addis Ababa, July 23, 2025 (FMC) – Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh today visited the Ethiopian Management Institute’s Bishoftu Training Center, where he reviewed ongoing construction and training activities, affirming the federal government’s commitment to transforming the center into a premier hub for leadership and institutional capacity building.
Recognizing the Institute’s longstanding role in developing skilled professionals and leaders across both public and private sectors, Deputy PM Temesgen underscored the center’s critical contribution to Ethiopia’s ongoing reform agenda, which aims to improve government administration and public service delivery.
During his visit, Temesgen observed the center’s extensive training programs, consulting services, and research initiatives. He highlighted the impressive, green campus — including trees planted as early as 1969 — as a symbol of the Institute’s enduring legacy in shaping Ethiopia’s development.
In a symbolic gesture, the Deputy Prime Minister left a green imprint on the institute’s wall, representing a shared commitment to sustainable growth and institutional transformation.
Looking ahead, Temesgen outlined plans for major upgrades to the facility, including the construction of modern training, residential, and recreational infrastructures designed to foster a culture of knowledge, respect, and innovation among trainees.
“The Bishoftu Training Center must embody Ethiopia’s path to prosperity and serve as a model institution that elevates the capacity of both government and private sector actors,” he said.
The federal government will provide all necessary support to ensure the center’s expansion and modernization, aligning with national ambitions for inclusive growth and enhanced public sector performance.
