Deputy PM Temesgen says expansion of electric mobility reduces climate vulnerability, promotes sustainable dev’t
Addis Ababa, December 27, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Green Legacy journey—aimed at handing over a livable and prosperous country to the next generation—continues to advance successfully across all sectors, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh said on Saturday.
Today, the Deputy PM officially inaugurated the Ethiopia Green Mobility Expo and Forum 2025, describing it as a powerful demonstration of the country’s historic commitment to restoring nature and building a low-emission, climate-resilient economy.
He highlighted that the expo is more than a showcase of cutting-edge green transport technologies. “It serves as a vital platform for fostering shared understanding, strategic dialogue, and collaboration among government institutions, investors, industry leaders, and society at large,” Temesgen said.
Through proven green development initiatives—such as the Green Legacy program and the rapid expansion of electric mobility—the Deputy PM noted that Ethiopia is taking decisive steps to reduce climate vulnerability and chart a sustainable development path.
Ethiopia is ready to lead in modern and green transportation, he said, emphasizing that by integrating renewable energy with advanced mobility solutions and significantly reducing carbon emissions, the country is positioning itself as Africa’s frontrunner in the green industrial and mobility transformation.
“To deliver a thriving nation to future generations across every sector, we will further intensify our green prosperity journey. Achieving this vision requires not only strong government leadership, but also a cultural and mindset shift, alongside unwavering commitment, from every citizen and institution,” Temesgen added.
He reaffirmed that the government prioritizes green growth because of its deep concern for the generations to come and will continue to strengthen its leadership role to ensure this vision becomes a lasting reality.
“Ethiopia’s green future is bright—and together, we are building it,” the Deputy PM concluded.
