Ethiopia and AU-PAPS Pledge Stronger Peace and Security Collaboration
Addis Ababa, April 7, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, on Friday received the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS), Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, at his office in Addis Ababa.
During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on regional and continental peace and security issues, emphasizing the importance of enhanced cooperation and close coordination in addressing security challenges across Africa.
The discussion comes as Ethiopia assumes the Chairship of the African Union Peace and Security Council for April 2026, highlighting the country’s ongoing leadership role in promoting stability and fostering collaboration on the continent.
