Ethiopian Airlines group reports $7.6 Billion revenue for 2024/25 fiscal year

Addis Ababa, August 5, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopian Airlines Group has reported a revenue of $7.6 billion for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, marking a significant achievement in the carrier’s sustained growth trajectory despite persistent global challenges.

Speaking at the airline’s annual press conference today, Group CEO Mesfin Tasew highlighted the company’s strong operational performance and resilience. He announced that Ethiopian Airlines transported 19 million passengers during the reporting period—comprising 15.2 million international and 3.9 million domestic travelers—up from 17 million the previous year.

In line with its expansion strategy, the airline acquired 13 new state-of-the-art aircraft and launched six new international routes. Cargo operations also registered notable growth, further reinforcing the airline’s position in global air freight services.

CEO Mesfin noted that despite ongoing external disruptions—including the Russia-Ukraine war, crises in the Middle East, and regional conflicts in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo—Ethiopian Airlines has continued to strengthen its global footprint.

With its growing fleet, expanding destinations, and record-breaking revenue, Ethiopian Airlines maintains its position as Africa’s leading carrier and a rising force in the global aviation industry.
