Ethiopian Airlines Opens Yabello Airport, Launches New Passenger Service

Addis Ababa, August 31, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopian Airlines Group has inaugurated a new airport today in Yabello, Southern Oromia Regional State, and launched a thrice-weekly passenger service connecting the area to the national network.

The inauguration was marked by a grand ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, senior federal and regional government officials, executives of Ethiopian Airlines, and residents of the local community.

The launch of scheduled flights to Yabello adds to Ethiopian Airlines’ growing domestic network, underscoring its role in driving mobility, economic growth, and social cohesion across Ethiopia.
