Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw Wins 2026 Berlin Half Marathon

Addis Ababa, March 29, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw delivered a standout performance to win the women’s race at the 45th edition of the Berlin Half Marathon, clocking an impressive time of 1:05:07.

Amebaw secured victory ahead of Kenya’s Daisilah Jerono, who finished second in 1:05:21, while fellow Kenyan Veronica Loleo took third place with a time of 1:05:35.

In the men’s race, Kenya’s Andrea Kiptoo claimed first place, finishing in 59:11, narrowly edging compatriot Dennis Kipkemoi, who recorded the same time. Germany’s Amanal Petros secured third place with a time of 59:22.

The race, held in Berlin, brought together elite athletes from around the world, reaffirming its status as one of the premier half marathon events on the global athletics calendar.

Amebaw’s victory marks another significant achievement for Ethiopia in international long-distance running, highlighting the country’s continued strength and depth in the sport.
