Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Launches Fourth Book, ‘Medemer State,’ in Landmark Ceremony
Addis Ababa, September 16, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed unveiled his fourth book, Medemer State, in a landmark ceremony this evening, marking a significant moment in the promotion and consolidation of the Medemer—synergy—philosophy.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Abiy himself, President Taye Atsekeslassie, senior government officials, high-ranking military leaders, and representatives from diverse sectors of society.
Medemer State presents the Medemer philosophy as a sophisticated and widely embraced framework of governance, one that shapes Ethiopia’s national vision while fostering public trust.
Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Abiy underscored that Medemer State envisions a better tomorrow firmly rooted in the realities of today. He stressed that the book confronts the pressing question of why Ethiopia continues to face poverty and provides a clear, actionable roadmap for accelerated national progress.
Prime Minister Abiy elaborated that Medemer State not only articulates Ethiopia’s aspirations but also delineates practical strategies to achieve them. “The goal,” he said, “is to build a nation that does not merely emulate others, but stands as a model of excellence—a vision already beginning to materialize.”
Highlighting recent national achievements such as the inauguration of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and the Green Legacy Initiative, he emphasized that these successes exemplify Ethiopia’s capacity to realize its ambitions.
The Prime Minister further stressed the importance of forging a system that unites all Ethiopians—not through uniformity of thought, but by harmonizing collective efforts toward a shared national vision. In this regard, he described the Medemer philosophy as the definitive remedy to the fractures of Ethiopia’s past.
