FM Gedion, French Presidential Adviser Hold Talks to Bolster Bilateral Cooperation
Addis Ababa, November 5, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, held discussions with Jeremie Robert, Special Adviser for African Affairs to the Office of the President of France, on the sidelines of the EU–Ethiopia Investment Forum in Paris.
The meeting focused on advancing bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional developments of mutual concern.
Jeremie Robert highlighted that the successful convening of the Investment Forum reflected the shared vision and leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President Emmanuel Macron. He underscored that the event marked an important step in furthering economic cooperation between the two nations.
Foreign Minister Gedion, for his part, provided a detailed briefing on Ethiopia’s current political and regional landscape. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to sustaining reforms aimed at fostering stability, growth, and regional cooperation.
The French Adviser reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Ethiopia’s economic reform agenda and its ongoing development initiatives, noting that France remains a key partner in Ethiopia’s transformation journey.
Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration across multiple sectors and to enhance coordination to further consolidate the long-standing partnership between Ethiopia and France.
