Foreign Ministers of Mauritania, Somalia, SADR, and Sierra Leone Arrive in Addis Ababa for 39th AU Summit
Addis Ababa, February 10, 2026 (FMC) — The foreign ministers of Mauritania, Somalia, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), and Sierra Leone arrived in Addis Ababa on Monday to take part in the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Summit.
The ministers — Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug of Mauritania, Abdisalam Abdi Ali of Somalia, Mohamed Yeslem Beisat of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and Musa Timothy Kabba of Sierra Leone — arrived at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, where they were received by Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aziza Geleta, along with other senior Ethiopian government officials.
The 39th AU Summit will be held on February 14–15, 2026, following the 48th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, scheduled for February 11–12.
This year’s summit is being convened under the theme: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
