Kenyan President and Nigerian Vice President Arrive in Addis Ababa for UNFSS+4

Addis Ababa, July 27, 2025 (FMC) — Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye welcomed President William Samoei Ruto of the Republic of Kenya and Vice President Kashim Shettima of the Federal Republic of Nigeria upon their arrival in Addis Ababa.

The two high-level dignitaries are in Ethiopia to participate in the Second United Nations Food Systems Summit +4 (UNFSS+4), which is being hosted in Addis Ababa. The summit brings together global leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to assess progress and scale up action toward transforming food systems for sustainability, resilience, and food sovereignty.

President Ruto and Vice President Shettima are expected to engage in high-level discussions and share their respective countries’ experiences and strategies to improve food and nutrition security across Africa.
