Korea never forgets the sacrifices paid by Ethiopian heroes: Ambassador Lim Hoonmin
Addis Ababa, August 16, 2020 (FBC) – Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia, Lim Hoonmin said that his country will never forget the sacrifices paid by Ethiopian veterans in the Korean War.
Korean Embassy in Addis Ababa jointly with Ethiopian Veterans has celebrated the 75th anniversary of the national liberation day of Korea.
Korea always remembers Ethiopians who bravely fought in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, the ambassador stressed.
The Ambassador remarked that the contribution of Ethiopian veterans in the war laid the foundation for the present Korea.
Korea would not realize the recent rapid democratization and economic achievements if Ethiopian war heroes did not contribute to its liberation through sacrifices in the battlefield, the ambassador noted.
Addis Ababa hoods a museum that commemorates Ethiopian hero-martyrs who lost their lives at the battle fields in the Korean war from 1950-1953.
The relationship between Ethiopia and Korea Ethiopian veterans who survived the war said the historic cooperation between Ethiopian and Korea will be kept alive if the Museum commemorating lost soldiers is maintained well.
