Modern Resorts, Eco-Lodges, and Skylines Highlight Ethiopia’s Tourism Ahead of Summits

Addis Ababa, February 10, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia is showcasing its growing tourism sector as delegates arrive in the capital for this week’s African Union Summit and Italy–Africa Summit, the Office of the Prime Minister announced.

According to the PM’s Office, the country is promoting modern resorts, eco-lodges, and urban attractions designed to combine high-quality visitor experiences with sustainability. Highlighted destinations include Shabeelay Resort, Gorgora Eco Resort, and Wenchi Eco Lodge, which reflect Ethiopia’s efforts to expand eco-tourism and highlight the country’s natural and cultural assets.

The announcement emphasized that Addis Ababa, long recognized as Africa’s diplomatic hub, also offers leisure and cultural experiences for visitors extending their stay beyond the summits. Officials said these developments illustrate Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening its tourism infrastructure and promoting African-led tourism initiatives.

The PM’s Office described these initiatives as part of a broader strategy to position Ethiopia as a leading destination for sustainable and innovative tourism in Africa, coinciding with the arrival of international delegates and visitors.
