Mr. Addisu Arega appointed as Ethiopia’s new Minister of Agriculture

Addis Ababa, August 1, 2025 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has appointed Mr. Addisu Arega as Ethiopia’s new Minister of Agriculture effective today, the Office of the Prime Minister announced this afternoon.

Mr. Addisu Arega was serving as the Coordinator of the Oromia Regional State Rural Cluster with the rank of Deputy Head of State.

Mr. Addisu is taking office as of today replacing the outgoing Mr. Girma Amente.
