PM Abiy Ahmed arrives in Afar region to inaugurate Niin Lee Palm Lodge

Addis Ababa, March 22, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in the Afar Regional State today to inaugurate Niin Lee Palm Lodge, part of the government’s Dine for Generations initiative.

In a message shared on his social media page, the Prime Minister described the lodge as holding immense potential to usher in a new era of international tourism and agricultural revitalization, highlighting its significance for both the region and Ethiopia’s profile on the global stage.

He also referred to Afar as “the very Primordial land where humanity began,” emphasizing the region’s historical and cultural importance.
