PM Abiy Ahmed arrives in Baku, Azerbaijan, for official visit
Addis Ababa, February 26, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has traveled to Azerbaijan today for an official visit, his office confirmed.
Relations between Ethiopia and Azerbaijan have grown stronger in recent years, highlighted by ongoing diplomatic exchanges, the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia said in a social media post.
Due to these closer ties, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has started an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the PM Office disclosed.
The Prime Minister, along with the First Lady and a high-level delegation, arrived late today at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
This visit, the PM Office asserted, is expected to take bilateral relations to a more active and meaningful level.
