PM Abiy Ahmed holds talks with UNDP Regional Director for Africa, appreciates strong partnership for the continent
Addis Ababa, July 27, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed welcomed the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa, emphasizing Ethiopia’s appreciation for UNDP’s unwavering support in advancing inclusive development, peacebuilding, and resilience across the African continent.
In a message shared on his social media platforms, the Prime Minister highlighted the critical role UNDP plays in promoting sustainable development goals and fostering stability in the region.
The meeting with Ms. Eziakonwa is part of a series of high-level engagements Prime Minister Abiy has conducted this morning on the sidelines of 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4) in Addis Ababa. The Prime Minister had meetings with the FAO Director General Qu Dongyu, the UN Deputy Secretary General Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, and the President of IFAD Álvaro Lario.
