PM Abiy Commends Early-Stage Corridor Development in Kemise
Addis Ababa, November 15, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Friday lauded ongoing corridor development activities in Kemise town, part of the Oromia Zone within Ethiopia’s Amhara Regional State, describing them as a growing sign of nationwide urban transformation efforts.
In a post shared on his social media pages this today, the Prime Minister said the corridor development in Kemise — which includes a 1.3-kilometer bicycle lane and pedestrian walkway — demonstrates that the initiative is being embraced at multiple levels, with shared commitment to improving urban public spaces across the country.

PM Abiy noted that the visit carried added significance as Kemise was one of the remaining zones in the Amhara region he had not yet visited.

The Prime Minister also inspected the Elfora Agro-Industries integrated agricultural development facility, which he said is contributing to the national “Bounty of the Basket” (Ye Lemat Tirufat) program, a government initiative aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and food security.
