PM Abiy Holds Telephone Talks with Russian President Putin

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin today.

According to a post shared by the Prime Minister on his social media pages, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as other issues of mutual interest.

Earlier in the day, President Putin sent a message of condolences to Ethiopia over the recent landslide and flood incident in the Gamo Zone of the South Ethiopia Regional State.
