PM Abiy, Netherlands’ PM Schoof Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Climate Cooperation

Addis Ababa, November 23, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, to discuss ways to further strengthen the strong ties between Ethiopia and the Netherlands.

In a message shared on his official social media page, PM Abiy said, “We discussed ways to further strengthen the strong ties between Ethiopia and the Netherlands. As one of our key export destinations, the Netherlands offers significant potential to expand investments and economic cooperation.”

He added, “I also highlighted climate action collaboration and explored opportunities to deepen bilateral relations through visits and exchanges,” underscoring Ethiopia’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and broadening international partnerships.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Prime Minister Abiy has been engaging with leaders and senior officials from multiple countries to discuss economic cooperation, climate action, and global development priorities.
