PM Abiy officially launched the Kasanchis segment of the corridor dev’t works in the capital
Addis Ababa, April 22, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has officially launched the launched the Kasanchis segment of the corridor development works in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa today.
The launching of the newly redeveloped Kazanchis area marks a significant milestone in the Ethiopian government’s broader efforts to modernize cities, Premier Abiy noted on his social media page after commissioning the route.
“Once seen as a dilapidated area—especially from above—Kasanchis now stands as a testament to the rewards of hard work and collective progress,” he asserted.
PM Abiy recalled his recent visit to the members of the community relocated from Kazanchis area to Gelan Gura site where he spent the Easter Sunday festivity on 20th April. “Just a few days ago, we visited residents who were relocated from this area to a new, more conducive environment, reflecting our unwavering commitment to ensuring dignified living conditions for our communities.”
“The transformation of Kasanchis, completed in a remarkably short time, lays a solid foundation for smart city development and embodies our vision for green, clean, and modern urban centers,” the Prime Minister pointed out.
He stated that undertakings of this scale require substantial effort, and while they may bring temporary inconveniences, these are necessary sacrifices made in pursuit of the greater good.
Premier Abiy underlined that such progress must continue, for it carries with it “renewed hope—especially for the future of our children.”
