PM Abiy Says Aviation Expo 2026 Aims to Strengthen Ethiopia’s Role as Africa’s Aviation Hub

Addis Ababa, January 23, 2026 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the Aviation Expo 2026 is aimed at advancing aviation technology, skills development, and cooperation, while strengthening Ethiopia’s role as a growing aviation and aerospace hub in Africa.

In a social media post shared after attending the opening of the Expo, the Prime Minister said the event is being held as part of celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force.

He noted that the Expo, organized under the theme “Flying Forward, Building a Shared Future,” brings together national and international partners to promote collaboration across the aviation sector.
