PM Abiy Sends Condolences on the Passing of Former Kenyan Politician Raila Odinga

Addis Ababa, October 15, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has expressed his heartfelt condolences following the death of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga at the age of 80.

In a message of condolence posted to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Abiy noted, “On behalf of the Government of Ethiopia, I extend my sincere condolences on the passing of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. May he Rest In Peace

Raila Odinga was a prominent figure in Kenyan politics, having run for the presidency five times and playing a key role in advancing political reforms and national unity. Earlier this year, he also contested for the chairpersonship of the African Union Commission, enjoying strong regional support.
