Pres. Taye seen off President João Lourenço of Angola

Addis Ababa, March 14, 2025 (FMC) – The FDRE President Taye Atske-Selassie has seen of the current chairperson of the African Union, President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço of Angola, at Bole International Airport this morning, as the latter concluded his working visit to Ethiopia.

President João Lourenço came to Ethiopia earlier this week where he was welcomed by President Taye Atske-Selassie at Bole International Airport.

He attended the handover ceremony between the outgoing and the new African Union Commission leadership at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Thursday.

During his stay in the Ethiopian capital, President João Lourenço also visited the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum and laid a wreath of flowers. He also met and held talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, where they discussed bilateral, continental, and multilateral issues.

After concluding his working visit to Ethiopia, the Angolan leader returned to his country.
