Pres. Taye thanks ERCS, stakeholders for tireless dedication

Addis Ababa, May 8, 2025 (FMC) – The FDRE President and Patron of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) has thanked the Society, stakeholders and partners on the occasion of the 78th World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

Note that, the 78th World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day observed in Ethiopia today under the theme of “Keeping Humanity Alive”.

Marking the occasion, President Taye extended gratitude to ERCS, its “invaluable partners, members, volunteers, and employees”.

He highlighted the fact that the tireless dedication of all in serving those affected by conflict, drought, earthquakes, and other crises is deeply appreciated, as per a social media post by the Office of the President of Ethiopia.

Observed on May 8th each year, the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is an annual celebration of the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It honors the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
