President Taye Holds Talks with Senior Clergy of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church

Addis Ababa, June 3, 2025 (FMC) — President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie, held discussions today with senior clergy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church during their visit to the National Palace.

On the occasion, President Taye highlighted the vital role of religious institutions, describing them as foundational to the country’s existence and as symbols of Ethiopia’s rich culture, history, and identity.

He also affirmed that it is the government’s duty to support the commendable efforts of religious institutions in fostering peace, driving development, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting the moral values of citizens.
