President Taye leads senior officials in reviewing dev’t projects in Bahir Dar
Addis Ababa, June 16, 2025 (FMC) — President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie, along with Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh and Amhara Regional State Chief Administrator Arega Kebede, conducted a joint visit to major development projects underway in Bahir Dar city.
The delegation also included Social Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister, Daniel Kibret; Minister of Mines, Engineer Habtamu Tegegn; and other high-ranking federal and regional officials.
Upon their arrival in Bahir Dar, the officials received a warm welcome and proceeded to inspect infrastructure initiatives, including the newly constructed bridge over the Abay River and the ongoing corridor development project around Lake Tana.
It has been learned that the corridor project is part of a broader urban development plan aimed at integrating Lake Tana more closely with the city. By enhancing accessibility in five key directions around the lake, the project is expanding the lake’s social and economic contributions to the city and its residents.
The modern bridge, one of the city’s landmark infrastructure achievements, has significantly eased traffic flow while also enhancing Bahir Dar’s tourism appeal and supporting its broader urban development goals.
