UN Deputy Secretary-General and Global Delegates Arrive in Addis for UN Food Systems Summit
Addis Ababa, July 27, 2025 (FMC) — United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed has arrived in Addis Ababa to take part in the Second United Nations Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+4).
She was welcomed at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma.
Her arrival comes as high-level delegates from around the world continue to land in Addis Ababa for the summit, which officially opens on July 28. The Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, Ministers of Agriculture from Nepal and Morocco, Ministers of National Development Planning from Jordan and Indonesia, and the Special Envoy of the President of France also arrived today to participate in the global event.
Ethiopia is hosting the UNFSS+4 to assess global progress on transforming food systems, with a focus on implementation, partnerships, and integrated solutions.
