Addis Ababa, July 10, 2026 (FMC) โ The 32nd Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum (PI-SF) opened in Addis Ababa today, bringing together parliamentarians, policymakers, and security experts from around the world to discuss evolving global security challenges and strengthen cooperation on intelligence and security governance.
Hosted by Ethiopia, the two-day forum is focused on enhancing parliamentary dialogue, promoting cooperation among lawmakers and security institutions, and addressing emerging threats at the intersection of security, technology, and legislation.
The forum, founded in 2014 by former US Congressman Robert Pittenger, aims to bridge the gap between legislative and executive intelligence and security institutions by fostering dialogue among parliamentarians, intelligence professionals, and government officials.
The Addis Ababa gathering brings together lawmakers and security experts from 43 countries to exchange experiences and explore practical approaches to addressing transnational security threats, including cybersecurity challenges, illicit financing and terrorist financing, human trafficking, and other emerging risks.
The opening session was attended by Speaker of the House of Peoplesโ Representatives of Ethiopia Mr. Tagesse Chaffo, Founder and Chairman of the Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum Robert Pittenger, Chief Government Whip Minister Tesfaye Beljige (PhD), Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gideon Timothewos (PhD), US Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga, and other senior officials and delegates.
The forum highlights the importance of parliamentary oversight, intelligence cooperation, and collective action in strengthening security responses amid rapidly changing technological and geopolitical challenges.
The 32nd Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum is being held in Addis Ababa from July 10โ11, 2026, following an opening reception held on July 9.
