🇪🇹🇿🇼 Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party and Zimbabwe’s ZANU-PF Sign MoU to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Addis Ababa, November 7, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party and Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU-PF have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen party-to-party relations and institutional cooperation, opening a framework for sustained collaboration between the two governing parties.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa on November 7, on the sidelines of the Second African Political Parties Summit.

The MoU establishes a framework for continued institutional engagement, exchange of experience and cooperation in governance, leadership development, institutional capacity building and national development.

It also provides an organized basis for the two parties to strengthen their longstanding political relationship, identify areas of mutual interest and draw on shared experiences in support of their respective national development agendas.

The signing during the continental summit underscores the role of political dialogue in translating common interests into practical institutional partnerships.

The gathering has provided a platform for African political parties to broaden engagement, exchange perspectives and establish bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The agreement also aligns with the broader objectives of the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI), which seeks to strengthen political parties as enduring institutions capable of contributing to policy innovation, good governance, leadership development and economic transformation beyond electoral competition.
