🇪🇹🕊️ National Inter-Religious Prayer Program for Peace, Unity Underway in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, May 24, 2026 (FMC) — A national inter-religious public prayer program aimed at strengthening peace, unity and solidarity is underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The program is being organized by the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia under the theme: “Our Religious Values for Our Sustainable Peace.”

Held at Arada Park, the event has brought together senior government officials, religious leaders, elders and representatives of various faith institutions from across the country.

Among those attending the program are Speaker of the House of Federation Agegnehu Teshager, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Coordination Center for Democracy Building Adem Farah, Minister of Peace Mohamed Idris, senior religious fathers, guardian elders of the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia, as well as Abba Gadas and elders representing different religious institutions and communities.

The national prayer program is being held with the objective of reinforcing peaceful coexistence, national unity and mutual understanding among Ethiopia’s diverse religious communities.
