Central Bank Governor Discusses Investment Climate, Cross-Border Remittances with U.S. Ambassador

Addis Ababa, August 11, 2025 (FMC) — National Bank of Ethiopia Governor Mamo Mihretu held a productive meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga to discuss key initiatives aimed at improving Ethiopia’s investment climate.

The discussions also focused on enhancing regulatory cooperation between the two countries, particularly regarding cross-border remittance flows.

Both parties emphasized the importance of channeling these financial transfers through formal and regulated systems to promote transparency and stability in Ethiopia’s financial sector.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral collaboration in support of Ethiopia’s economic development priorities, the central bank told Fana Media Corporation.
