ENDF Chief of Staff Highlights Army’s Readiness to Protect Ethiopia’s Sovereignty

Addis Ababa, September 21, 2025 (FMC) – The Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, reaffirmed that the Ethiopian army is fully prepared to safeguard the country’s existence and defend its national interests during the graduation of the 26th Eagle Course trainees at the Hurso Candidate Officers Training School.

In his address to the graduating officers, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula emphasized the responsibility of the new officers to uphold the legacy of their ancestors by protecting the nation and preserving it for future generations.

He highlighted that the ENDF has acquired advanced military knowledge and skills, enabling it to execute missions effectively and with determination.

The Chief of Staff noted that the graduates are expected to apply the experience and training they have received to strengthen the country’s sovereignty and security.

He also pointed out that external actors seeking to prevent Ethiopia from utilizing its natural resources are attempting to destabilize the nation through recruitment of gangs and exploitation of internal vulnerabilities.

Field Marshal Berhanu Jula stressed that the ENDF is fulfilling its historical responsibility by building a modern and capable army that reflects the aspirations of the Ethiopian people and reliably safeguards the nation’s interests.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, senior General Officers, and the Mayor of Dire Dawa City, Kedir Juhar.
