High-Level Ethiopian Delegation Arrives in Washington, D.C. for IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings
Addis Ababa, October 13, 2025 (FMC) – A high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by Minister of Finance Mr. Ahmed Shide and National Bank Governor Mr. Eyob Tekalign, has arrived in Washington, D.C. to participate in the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The meetings will run from October 13 to October 18 at the headquarters of the two institutions, it has been learned.
During their visit, the delegation is scheduled to engage with a range of multilateral organizations and institutions, strengthening Ethiopia’s economic cooperation and exploring opportunities for collaboration in global development initiatives.
The IMF and WBG Annual Meetings bring together central bankers, finance and development ministers, private sector leaders, civil society representatives, and academics to discuss pressing global issues, including the world economic outlook, poverty reduction, sustainable development, and aid effectiveness. The program features seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and numerous sessions focused on international finance, economic growth, and global development strategies.
